For years I have utilized the time honored practice of reading "the book first" and then seeing the movie.
This year I have challenged this practice by watching two great movies, "No Country For Old Men" and then "Charlie Wilson's War", followed by reading the novels associated with them.
What a treat it has been to read the novels and recreate in your mind the characters associated with the movie. With every word of George Crile's Charlie, I can see the great Tom Hanks in action and who will ever be more sinister than the "Bad Guy" in No Country with Javier Bardem the worst character ever, yes worse than my hero Jack Palance in "Shane" and for you young whipersnappers with your cyberspace minds, "Shane" represents one of the great westerns ever so make sure you get the video and don't forget "High Noon!"
So just try the "Bear's Reverse Tactic" of watching a movie and then reading the book and you will be pleasantly surprised to find your creative juices are stimulated by this recreation! So says "the Bear!"
